NDVI Crop Insurance

Kifiya led the development of a pioneer micro-insurance product enabling Ethiopian small-holder farmers to cope with weather-related risks. The attribution of the insurance is determined by a Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), which is obtained from satellite captures of the greenery level of the land.

Resolution handled the visuals of the entire launch end to end which included many aspects including design research, custom icon development and custom character design and illustration. The crowning visual was a 20-meter billboard that illustrated the entire micro-insurance process from outlining the major issues facing small-holder farmers through to registration and eventual payout in the event of a catastrophe. This billboard provided an easy-to-understand visualization of a complicated technical process using custom-made, easy to understand icons and human symbols. We have found that illustrating complex ideas or processes through the use of simple visualizations and logically flowing diagrams can be more effective than lengthy documents or technical brochures.

Zambezi Prize

We decided to stray away from typical, monotonous, text-heavy feel of most corporate publications and use vibrant but simple illustrations to showcase their various business models. The hand-drawn imagery was used to make the brochure feel more relatable to everyday people.

Yene Guzo

Yene Guzo is an electronic fare collection and ticketing service.
We used various icons to demonstrate the typical urban landscapes that Yene Guzo serves. Vibrant colors throughout the poster show that this is an innovative product that will initially gain acceptance with young, trendy urban dwellers. Our use of long, curved roads showcases the widespread (i.e. national) coverage of the product.
