The Conversation

Some conversations can change lives.

In Ethiopia, conversations about child sexual abuse are often shaped by silence, stigma, and barriers to communication.

Kelela began in 2017, following conversations and personal accounts shared during the global #MeToo movement. They revealed an urgent need for accessible information that could support communication between children, parents, caregivers, and educators.

The initiative brought together people from different professional and creative backgrounds to develop practical resources for prevention and intervention.

The Collective Effort

Built throughshared commitment.

Founded and organized by Selam Mussie, Kelela developed through the voluntary contributions of researchers, psychiatrists, psychologists, legal professionals, writers, translators, designers, and community members.

Resolution Studio and its leadership became involved early, contributing creative expertise, design, branding, digital development, and studio resources, investing its own time rather than treating the work as a paid assignment.

More than two years to develop the first guidebook.
