Every tree has a story

It belongs to a place. It supports life. It connects people. And its story continues long after planting day.

01 · The Beginning

The idea behind Qeyé.

But what happens after planting day?

Qeyé began with a question: What if people could stay connected to the trees they plant, know where they grow, follow their journey, and become part of something larger?

That question became the starting point for a new venture connecting nature, people, and technology.

A planter walks through tall grass at Gullele Botanical Garden, surrounded by dark green trees.

02 · The Idea

Plant. Connect. Follow.

A location. A species. A person. A place in a larger ecosystem. Qeyé gives each registered tree a digital record, so its journey can be followed.

Plant

A native tree goes into the ground, planted by local teams.

02

Connect

It is placed on the map and given a record of its own.

03 · The Platform

Everything is connected.

From one tree to the people, organizations, places and living systems around it, in one platform designed to make a complex network feel simple and personal.

  1. 01 · Map

    A marker on the map.

Every registered tree has a place. Filters move between trees, projects, organizations, members, cities and forests.

  2. 02 · Tree

    The marker opens a record.

Species, place, registration, biodiversity and Carbon & Climate, held in one record.

Meet your tree: the tree record (demonstration data).
  3. 03 · Person

The record connects to a person.

Each person gathers their trees, places and connections, and can plant for themselves, gift a tree or grow with family.

Stay connected: a person at the centre of their trees (demonstration data).
  4. 04 · Organization

    People become a portfolio.

Organizations build tree portfolios across projects and places, like Expertise France, with trees registered at Gullele.

  5. 05 · Place

    A portfolio belongs to places.

Projects and cities give every tree its context: Gullele Botanical Garden, in Addis Ababa.

04 · The First Chapter

Starting in Addis Ababa.

Qeyé’s first chapter began at Gullele Botanical Garden, where planting, community participation, native species and digital registration came together.

05 · The Ambition

One city is a beginning.

From city streets, schools and parks to forests and restoration landscapes, the platform is designed to grow wherever Qeyé develops local partnerships and projects.

Connecting people to trees, trees to communities, and communities to thriving forests.

Qeyé brings together the things we believe creative work can do: turn an idea into a venture, make complex systems accessible, and create new ways for people to participate in something meaningful.

Through strategy, identity, product design, technology, and communication, Resolution Studio contributed to building the foundation for Qeyé’s next chapter.
